The competition and exhibition attracted a lot of local attention, and many people remarked on the high quality of the entrants.
We had some 70 entries, and went through three rounds of voting for the winner. 137 members of the public and church voted in the first round – from which we took the top 7 adult entries and the top 7 youth entries. From these 14 semi-finalists, the church congregation voted for the five finalists. Church members then put those five in order; the voting for the top three being quite close. The final winner was Don Nicholson from Ross-on-Wye.
